Thank you for your question! Most women develop a hematoma very quickly after surgery, especially if they have been taking blood thinners. If you are feeling fine now without discomfort then you may not have anything to worry about. The best advice is to see your Plastic Surgeon to make sure everything looks/feels okay to know for sure.

Best to have examination if you are concerned about hematoma - but you would notice a difference in breast size and there would be discomfort.

If it looks good and feels good, its good. Sometimes you get a late bruise as blood seeps out of the pocket. This will happen on the outside and bottom of your breast. A hematoma happens usually early after surgery, meaning in the first few days, late hematomas can happen but they are unusual.

You would usually know if you had a hematoma if your breast(s) swelled up and they hurt more. You should really take it easy for once you have a hematoma, not only is surgery usually necessary but capsular contracture is very possible!

The concern would arise if you notice any sudden and rapid swelling of the breasts (bilateral or just on one side).

I would recommend following up with your operating surgeon to discuss what activities you are currently cleared for and to evaluate your recovery thus far.

It is best to see your doctor, very important to determine what is going on. Do not ask the internet, you just had surgery please see your doctor for your follow up care.
