I also have severe bruising and looks as though I've had very little to no leakage. I'm 7 days post op and been wearing my compression leggings everyday. It looks as though not much fat has been removed will the results improve over time?
Totally normal to have bruising and swelling at 1 week which can last several weeks and gradually subside. It is important to try to move around as much as possible, gently range your legs, knees and ankles fully and keep them elevated when resting. Final results from liposuction can take up to 3 months. Be patient and f/u with your plastic surgeon to address your concerns.

Just give this some time. You are only a week out from your procedure. I tell all of my lipo patients you will be bigger before you are smaller. This is because the area is inflamed and needs time to resolve. Also, the body needs time to flush out the fat during its waste removal process.

It is not typical to have severe pain after liposuction. It sounds like you may have had moderate to significant bleeding at the site which may be what is causing the pain. I would suggest you have your surgeon take a look to make sure there is nothing that needs to be done urgently. It most likely is something that will resolve with some time but it should be checked. At 7 days and with a lot of swelling, it is too early to really assess the results. You need to give it at least 2 to 3 months.

Have your doctor examine you. Excessive pain can be normal and associated with excessive bruising, but it can also be other problems that may need your doctors attention. Best of luck.

Thank you for your question.
I would recommend that you call and go see your surgeon so that he/she can perform an examination to determine if what you are experiencing is "normal".

The knee area is very susceptible to swelling post-liposuction since gravity pulls that edema down itno the area constantly. Just keep up with your compression, elevation, and icing when you can. It can take three months or more to see the final results, so just be patient.
