I want the fake Barbie doll high projected look. I want to know what I am getting before I get my breast done.
Yes, but it is not advisable to overfill a saline implant any more than 10-20% which would be up to about 880-960cc for an 800cc implant. Any more than that would potentially weaken the implant leading to possible rupture, not to mention it would create a very unnatural hard feel.

There are recommendations for fill capacities on saline implants. These can be exceeded to a certain extent. However, the more excessive the fill, the greater the distortion of the device and its dimensions. Filling a device to 150% of its recommended volume is unwise.
If you are seeking greater projection, you might consider an HP or extra high profile silicone device.
As always, discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

No, but it will stretch the skin, requiring other surgery, and it may cause visible and palpable ripples.

You cannot get that size in the USA.

Overfilling saline implants definitely gives more of an artificial look. The final fill volume will depend on the projection, width, and diameter of the implant itself. Ask your surgeon for the implant with most projection. Bring in photos of your goals so you are on the same page. These implants are typically referred to as "ultra high profile" implants. Best of luck.

I think I have answered you before. If I use an 800cc implant saline and overfill it to 1200cc, the look is more rounded and the feel is firmer. If you use a 1200cc shell, it will be softer and less round. The first way would make it look more "fake."

Overfilling an 800cc implant beyond manufactures specifications has two consequences- first it weakens the shell due to the increased pressure of the extra fluid beyond what it was designed to do- it will most likely greatly decrease the life span of your implants. Secondly, the shape change due to a significant overfilling of the implant causes it to lose width (and possibly cleavage) and increase projection- so much so that it will have a ball-like shape. I would discuss these two potential issues with your PS before proceeding,
I hope this helps

Thank you for your question.
I recommend that you visit with well experienced plastic surgeons who can demonstrate the look you are wanting to achieve.
After an examination, discussion about what can and cannot be achieved can be had.
Best wishes.

There are no currently FDA approved 1200cc implants in the United States. The only way to get 1200cc is through an overfilled saline implant, and the largest saline implant on the market is 800cc.

Thanks for your question. I have to warn you that having breast implants of this size range will irreversibly damage the breast tissue you have. I would strongly encourage you to reconsider going this large with your implant choice. Furthermore, performing a breast augmentation of this size is extremely challenging and the vast majority of board certified plastic surgeons would refuse to perform the surgery. That means that you will have to find someone unqualified to perform your challenging surgery. This is a recipe for a bad result. Please take caution.

Hi there, I think it is fairly certain that overfilling 800 cc implants by 50% will create that high projection, Barbie doll look. Saline implants as they get progressively overfilled become more projecting, narrower, and firmer. There is a sweet spot with regard to rippling where it is decreased slightly with overfilling. However, at 1200 cc fill it is beyond that sweet spot, and they will definitely have rippling, which is one of the major problems you'll have to deal with. The other is unpredictable tissue stretch and malposition; extra large saline implants have a significant impact on your tissues and you may need more revision surgeries than the 'normal' patient in the future. Best of luck!

The implant would become round like a ball instead of the intended dome shape.

Hello, we frequently overfill an 800cc implant if the patient requests much larger volume. This should give the appearance of a 1200cc volume implant.

You need to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss this is person. There are so any many factors involved in this. Base width, laxity of tissues, size of present breasts etc etc etc.
Good Luck

Currently, there is no such thing as a 1200cc implant manufactured in the US. The highest volume made in any profile/ maufacturer is 800cc. In the saline devices, these can be overfilled pretty aggressively. The Mentor moderate plus 800cc saline has the largest overfill capacity. Allergan/ Natrella makes an 800cc HP saline device, but its overfill capacity is only up to around 1000cc. That being said, any of those ranges are on the extra-large size of implants and not many women can accomodate that much pressure on the breast tissue/ frame. Whether these are the right implants for you is impossible to say without an examination.

Good morning!
I perform a lot of XL augmentations, and I use the Mentor Mod Plus 800-960cc shell to achieve the 1200cc size and look. Currently larger silicone implants up to 1400cc from Mentor are entering FDA trials but will likely not be available for quite some time.

Overfilling saline breast implants is a proven method to decrease the rate of implant deflation. Saline breast implants should be overfilled to about 10 to 20% the total volume. Overfilling to more than that will not increase the size but only the firmness. Overfilling an 800 cc implant to 1200cc will deliver really hard breasts with the look of 800 cc.

hello, and thank you for this question. I would not recommend such an overfill for these implants. As a general rule the manufacturer's recommend an approximate 10-15% overfill. An 800 cc implant can be overfill to approximately 9-950 cc. With a larger overfill there may be some problems with the integrity of the implant itself. Seek out a qualified board certified plastic surgeon to discuss options that may include a high profile implant. Best of luck.

You may want to consider the new high-profile full projection silicone gel implants to achieve this look along with fat grafting into the superior and medial pole of the breast. Currently this concept is termed composite breast augmentation.

Well that is about the only way to get that large of an implant volume because they do not make an implant that big
