Silicone implants, in general, feel superior to saline in most aspects, especially in thin patients with very little breast tissue. In these patients, saline implants have a significantly higher incidence of visible and/or palpable ripples. But if the patient has adequate coverage, both should look and feel great.
Beware of asking for "natural." What most patients see before surgery is "natural," but it isn't as nice as they desire. Ask for and expect the breast to be fabulous, which is better than "natural."

Saline high profile under the muscle are recommended. For a natural look, do not surpass a 2-cup jump.

Talk to your doctor. Sometimes the patient can choose (they will have the same beautiful result with either type of implant), and sometimes the patient HAS to have silicone gel breast implants to get a nice result. Usually, the patients who NEED to get silicone gel breast implants are the patients who have very little body fat / very little breast tissue to cover the implants. Silicone gel breast implants are softer, so if the patient doesnt have the breast tissue to cover the implants, it may be best to use the silicone gel. There is a cost difference between the 2 implants as well (silicone gel is more expensive). I hope this helps.

Silicone implants are recommended for patients who are thin and want a natural look.

Thank you for your question. If you are desiring a natural look, silicone implants look and feel more like a natural-looking breast. Silicone also tends to ripple less. So, if you have a petite frame, there is smaller chance you will be able to see the rippling than in comparison to saline implants.

If you are skinny, I would probably recommend silicone implants. Saline implants have a tendency to ripple on the lower outside portion of the breast, even if placed under the muscle. A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon would be a good way to start.

Thank you for sharing. For people with thin body types and envelopes, a silicone implant may have less rippling over time. See your local board-certified plastic surgeon. He or she should be able to assess you and make appropriate recommendations. Best wishes!

The less breast tissue that you have covering the breast implant, the more likely it will "show" and be felt. So, I would probably recommend under the muscle for more covering. A saline implant does cause more ripples, so I would probably chose the silicone implant.

Thank you for your question. There are so many variables that come into play regarding the "natural" look, including:
-- Implant type (ie/ teardrop, rounded, high profile, etc.)
-- Implant material (silicone, saline)
-- Surgical approach (submuscular, above the muscle, etc.)
All of these factors contribute to the overall appearance of the result.
Most surgeons, nonetheless, would agree that the most important factor is your natural anatomy and how "big" you want to go. Going to a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgery for a proper pre-operative evaluation is your best bet. Best of luck!

They are both good implants. However, silicone is a softer and offers a more natural look than saline. It also has a lighter weight.

For a thin patient with thin breasts, saline and silicone breast implants may look very similar. Feel, however, is different. Silicone will feel more natural. Also, over time, silicone is more durable. Saline, on the other hand, may ripple more and possibly deflate sooner. The natural look is dependent on implant size, shape and placement.

Silicone is probably your best option if you are thin. There is a chance you'll get excessive wrinkling with saline implants.

There is no question: the less breast tissue/soft tissue a patient has, the more important silicone becomes. You may also need to consider some fat grafting to your breast area as well.
