David B. Reath, M.D.

Dr. Reath
established his practice of plastic surgery in Knoxville in 1986, almost three decades ago. Since that time much has changed in medicine and in plastic surgery. And, indeed, our practice has seen many changes and has evolved into one of the leading plastic surgery practices in East Tennessee. We are now primarily focused on aesthetic or cosmetic surgery. However, one thing has not changed: our practice philosophy. Simply put, we want to take care of you as we would want to be taken care of if we were the patient. This requires an individualized and personal approach to each patient in order to understand and meet their needs.

Dr. Reath has invested his professional life to his craft of plastic surgery. Although his experience has been very broad, his focus is on cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face. The changes patients experience through these operations can be profound. Our goal is that you benefit from your procedure throughout the rest of your life. Dr. Reath and his staff are committed to getting to know you on a personal level in order to achieve the results you want. It’s why our motto is the personal approach to personal change.

David B. Reath, M.D.

Dr. Reath’s motto is “The personal approach to personal change.” This is not just a catchphrase. His passion is using his skills and abilities to help his patients best improve the quality of their lives.

During your consultation, Dr. Reath takes the time to really listen to you. Then he explains all of your options, answers your questions and helps you decide if plastic surgery is right for you. Routinely, patients tell us how nice he is and how pleasantly surprised they are by the amount of time Dr. Reath spends with them one-on-one…especially if they’ve had consultations with other plastic surgeons. In addition to spending time with patients in the office, Dr. Reath also answers patient emails personally every morning before he starts operating. He even calls his patients the night of their surgery to check on them.

His plastic surgery qualifications are first-rate. Not only is Dr. Reath a Board-certified plastic surgeon, he served as member-at-large of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Because of his passion for public education, the ASPS asked Dr. Reath to be Chairman of their Public Education Committee. He is the only plastic surgeon in East Tennessee to serve in a leadership position of the country’s foremost authority on plastic surgery.

Dr. Reath was selected for both “The Patient’s Choice 5 Year Anniversary Award” and the “Compassionate Doctor Award 5 Year Honoree”. This is a big deal because only 1% of the doctors in the United States are awarded either honor by their patients. In addition patient reviews resulted in the “Top Ten Doctor Award” for plastic surgeons in Tennessee.

Dr. Reath is also a favorite of the local Knoxville newspaper and magazine surveys. He is a “Reader’s Choice Favorite Plastic Surgeon” by the Knoxville New Sentinel, a “Best Cosmetic Surgeon” in the Metropulse Best of Knoxville and consistently selected a “TOP DOC” in plastic surgery by Cityview Magazine.
