TUBA and track marks

Hey Dr. Kim,
I see that you perform BA through the belly button. I am very happy that you do because I would love to have a "scarless" BA by you. My concern is about track marks. I read sometimes you can get them when using that incision. What are the rates of permanent track marks in Asians and what can be done if and when they become permanent?

Thank you!

Dr. David Kim is on a distinguished road
I haven't had an issue with permanent track marks. I can only think of a couple patients that may have had a slight dent by the belly button. There will be some scar tissue in the tunnels but it goes away in a month or two. Track marks are things that doctors that don't do umbilical breast augmentation talk a lot about. It's because they don't do that procedure and probably have never even done one. It's something to lead you towards a procedure they do offer. Are permanent track marks possibly yes, but I haven't had a problem with them.
