Hey Dr. Kim,
I read on several accounts that certain incision sites will have a higher chance of complications. I read that areola and armpit has sweat glands in which bacteria can enter the body causing infections for example. What do you feel about this?

Dr. David Kim is on a distinguished road
Every few years there is a new theory on capsular contracture. Bacteria is the most recent one. I'm not sure if it is valid or not but we do many things to decrease the chance for bacteria getting in the pocket. There are no breast ducts in the umbilicus and yet people who go through the belly button can get capsules as well.

I've heard of someone that was allergic to the implant and she had to get them removed and not replaced. Is there a way to test if one is allergic to breast implants to avoid the grief of removal? How common do you think that kind of allergy is?
