Vacation post op

Hi Dr. Messa. I am planning to do my BA this summer, but we are planning a family cruise this summer too. How far post op should I be before taking a cruise? It is all inclusive, so I would like to be able to indulge in a few adult drinks. There is a pool and hot tub, as well as beach excursions. Will I be able to plan my BA and then the cruise at about 4 weeks post op?
Thank you!

Can you do it after family cruise? Im 5 weeks post-op and cannot submerge in water and still no pushing or lifting. I wouldn't go now cause i dont fit in anything yet or feel comfortable being super active.

Just chiming in here. My orders were 6 weeks before I could submerge in water.

Thank you for your question. I recommend my patients wait about 4 - 6 weeks post-op before going on a cruise so that they feel more comfortable to enjoy excursions and other activities. Also, it is best to avoid too much sun exposure early into the recovery period so that scars do not become darker than originally expected. Should you have any further questions please feel free to reach out by calling my office directly at (954) 659-7760. All the best!
