Loss of Sensation

I have a totally numb nipple and the zingers seem to have stopped. (I'm nine weeks post op.) I did have issues with blood supply to that nipple which caused a slight delay in healing as opposed to the other.
For those who had loss of sensation, when did it return, if at all?

Did you have an areola incision? My ps said if I went that route I may have loss of sensation and if I remember correctly it wouldn't come back.

I'm in the same boat. I really really hope the sensation returns to normal.

I am 9 months post op and still no nipple sensation!

Only left breast had Benelli lift and I still have no nipple sensation on this breast.
After my BA my right nipple also had no sensation, but is now slowly returning. I doubt I will regain any nipple feeling in the lifted breast.
I actually prefer having no feeling in my nipples- My husband loves the fact I have no sensation in my nipples

I'm almost 10 weeks postop. I'd my last appt, (6 wk), I mentioned it and both my ps and her nurse said that it should come back, that nerve regeneration takes time but that it does return in most cases. I'm frustrated with it bc it kinda grosses me out that I can pinch it but feel nothing.:/
My ps mentioned a small revision may be needed as my other nipple is slight;y, (1 cm), lower than the numb one. I'm afraid to do it in case I lose sensation in that one too! She won't do anything for at least 6 months so I'm just playing the waiting game and hoping that the lower nipple will rise when that implant d&fs completely as its still a bit high.

This has scared me a little. I am planning to have a lift and implants this year. I actually looked on another site, and the doctors seem to agree that loss of sensation is temporary, how temporary? There isn't a set time frame. So if done correctly, you should regain sensation.

I'm really hoping to get it back...they're definately "on buttons" for me. lol I have noticed some zingers again the last few days so I'm cautiously hopeful.

I am numb in my left side......I'm holding on to hope. I have a friend that was numb for a year and then got her feeling back so, I know it is possible to come back way in the future!

I had a full anchor lift in May 2012...BA April 2013. I was numb from the anchor lift until about 6 weeks ago. I had almost given up hope and then shortly after my BA, the feeling returned...so hang in there.

No lift yet for me as that is six months away....but I have been totally numb on my right nipple and partially numb on my left since my first augmentation in 1971 (original and 1st revision were under the breast incisions). It doesn't always come from areola incisions or a lift. It can come from augmentation too. It is a complication of surgery that really isn't discussed enough and certainly was not when I began this bumpy ride.

It all depends on the individual. There are ladies on here and on other forums who'd gone for as long as 5 years with lost sensation, and then, after giving up hope, their feeling came back that many years later. There was also one woman who lost sensation with her first BA, but was still able to breastfeed despite that, and then when she got a revision BA later, her nipple sensation returned.

I am in the same boat as you. My left has no sensation what so ever and my right can be overly sensitive. I went through the crease so I'm hoping that they will return to normal soon.
