Keloid Scar Revision...
Im considering having a keloid scar revision when I go in for my BA on Feb 6.
I have to wait for my pre-op appointment for my PS to look at it and let me know if its even "Fixable". The scar is near the center of my chest/neck, near where the clavicals meet and although its small (1/2 inch) it bugs my husband to look at it and it itches allllllll the time....?
Anyone had a keloid revised, did you have good results?

No I haven't used any anti-itch creams. But I recently started using bio-oil.... Hasn't helped the itch but had smoothed the scar a little.
When I go in for my pre-op on the 27th my PS will take a look to see if he can fix it.

I've been using a silicone strip (ScarEase).. Most of the redness has gone and it has flattened a little but I'm going for steroid injections to try and completely flatten it..
Found a specialist research unit here in London which is part of a teaching hospital and they've agreed to see me so hopefully it will be dealt with

1 steroid injection worked magic on mine
A keloid scar formed on my chest when I was a kid. It was a shallow but flat crater the diameter of a large pea, and it sported sort of angry looking (light pink and purple) raised areas inside the crater. Lovely, huh?
About 7 years later, a dermatologist put a single steroid injection right in the center of the scar. Almost immediately, the scar began to level out, not 100% but pretty close. Then the surface began to smooth out and the colors began to fade to normal. Thirty-five years later, the scar is still there but it's not very noticeable. Mostly the skin is a little shiny when viewed from certain angles. To find the scar just now, I had to lightly feel the surface of my skin because I couldn't see it.
My P.S. asked me about the scar the other day. He said he sometimes uses steroid injections in crease incision scars, but only when they're wide. The treatment causes the scar tissue to sort of break down and spread, and that can actually widen the edges of a narrow incision scar.

I have a few keloid scars in my body!! Got steroid injections in all of them.
The oldest one being 6 years old... is not completely flat and you can still see it but doesn't itch and hasn't itched for years now. I believe it went completely flat at around year 4.
the other two.. one is not so bad but the other one is HUGE. It's from a tattoo removal gone bad. It's been almost 4 years now and it's still raised but much less than before and it itches so badly still!!! I'm going to go to a PS sometime this year to see if I can get this fixed or taken out...
