Belly button piercing scar...any hope?
So back a few years ago when practically everyone had their navel pierced I went and did the same. I've grown out of the pierced look and let my hole grow in but have a pretty visible hole and scar...is there anything that can be done to fix this. Anyone gone through it?

Hi!! I just no kidding went to my PS for help with my navel scar...it is a hole then dark pigmentation around the hole...I rejected it like 3 times
Yes had it done 3 times! Now I want the scar, the peircing, the skin gone!! But it's impossible he says...the only thing he can do is replace the old scar with a new 'cleaner' scar...but lasering is an option. So I am looking into that!!! Gah they don't tell you these things when your getting peirced..lol ! I would have done it once then whatever but I HAD to re peirce it twice to hide the little scaring I had from the previous 2...oh well onto lasering I guess! At least it will fade the dark pigmentation which bothers me the most...I'm okay with the small scar...

my DH was a piercer and the only thing you can do is have a doctor fix it- it naturally won't heal all the way (i'm in the same boat as you).

I'd be happy with a scar! I had my done twice. The first one the skin around the ring became too thin, so I had them re pierce it further back. Well, the first hole never grew back, and the skin between my new piercing and the old hold broke...so I now have a HUGE hole. Its been 10 years now...I HATE it.

I got sick of mine, but then I just decided it was easier to just put the jewellery back in and live with my choices! lol I don't wear it all the time anymore, just when I'm wearing a swimsuit or something where it will be visible. For some reason, my belly button piercing wouldn't close at all... whereas my ear piercings closed literally the week after I took my earrings out, and I couldn't get them back in! Strange...

I dont even think i have the option of a scar if i were to take mine out, its literaly a mini hole from 13 years of being pierced. I dont like the way it looks without the ring in it 1. bc the hole in my stmach lol and 2. i feel like i look fat w/o the ring in it. Maybe its just a mental thing bc ive had a ring in there for 13 years but i dont like the way my stomach looks without it lol

I was planning on having my naval pierced after my BA, but I hadn't considered what would happen when I got tired of it or didn't want to wear it. Now I'm thinking i might not want a permanent hole there. There are ps's that do earlobe repair for earring holes when they get ripped or stretched...I'd look into that and ask if they could do the same for a naval.

I'll try to find out!
Great question! I actually meant to ask my PS about that at my pre-op appt. yesterday and forgot until I read this post. Should have written it down with my other notes. I'm going to call and find out! It would be fabulous to have that fixed while I'm knocked out already!

I had mine stitched in when I went in for my surgery. $#@$# did it ever hurt. Way more than healing from the BA! Now I have a red scar about 3 times the size of my hole where the ring was. do I regret doing it? Maybe, it'd be easier to cover the hole with a small tiny belly stud than this gnarly scr now, but i'm going to start using silicone strips on it to hopefully at least make it white.

I'd like to keep the piercing but have the hole smaller to fit tighter around the bar. I need to ask my PS about it. I wonder if it is possible to just stitch it partially closed while keeping the piercing. Hmm...
