Tria home laser hair removal

Here is a quote from the Feb. Allure:

"The Tria- a hand-held laser you can use at home - is going to revolutionize hair removal. It's now pending FDA approval. You can use it on your legs, underarms, bikini area. Even if women still want to go to a pro for occasional treatments, they can cut down on those visits by using this between appointments."

Anyone know anything about this? I have been following the thread here re. hair vs. no hair. I never minded pubic hair But now my public hair is thinning and turning white. These signs of aging are embarrassing and I thought I should have it attended to while the vast majority of the hair is dark against fair skin. Anyone have any thoughts?

Lasers they use in licensed facilities are strong and need careful adjustment so as not to burn you or be too weak. I have a hard time believing they can make something that is just right for everyone and have it still work. I'm a pessimist like that. :o
It's cool and a good idea though.

Here's a link
.

I did a bit more research. It does work and has been in use in Japan and the UK for a bit. But the problem I read of in one review is that it does sting a bit and when the sting hits it is second nature to move the laser head away and of course if you do that it doesn't work. I think I am going to look into the professional a bit more. I'm thinking if I get it done, I will no how badly it stings and if I think I want to get a Tria for follow-up treatments I may do that.

Not Worth the Money

I have actually purchased the 'Rio Scanning Laser Hair Removal' machine and have given after using it just once. The head is so small that it doesnt even cover a one inch surface. It would be ok if you have small spots to remove hair from but absolutely useless if you wanted to do a large area.

I am now trying to sell it on ebay!!!

Hope this helps, don't mean to put you ladies off but I wish someone told me that before I spent 200.

I've just purchased similar one but haven't used it yet.

Here's the US site:
Ya-Man Ltd USA - Online Catalog

Will let y'all know after I try it. Wish me a luck...
