My Juvederm lip injection experience..
This is before.
http://i.imgur.com/dIs4HDH.png
I first got my lips done on October 15th. After 2 weeks, I had my follow up appointment and had formed a hardened lump of Juvederm on one side (it looked like a zit when I smiled) and on the other side, there was no filler in the corner. My doctor dissolved the lump, but the rest of the filler on that side ended up dissolved also. Instead of simply injecting more filler into the empty space on the other side, he decided to dissolve more filler. *Sigh*
This was 1 week after my lip injections:

And a couple days after he dissolved the lump, leaving me with an uneven smile.

I made my third appointment a week later (now 3 weeks after my first injections), but with another person in the practice. She re-injected my top lip all over. I got it done on Wednesday, but I'm pretty sure I am seeing another lump forming on the same side as before.

Today, showing the lumps:

I'm doomed, aren't I? At this point, I have already put ~$600 into these bad lips. The injections were $530, but they have a $50 injection fee for more filler. If I keep dissolving lumps and getting filler put back in, it will be stupid.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I would suggest letting your body heal and then trying again. I think fillers dissolve on their own after 18 months. Maybe some girls on here who have great lips in your area can point you in the right direction.
good luck!

Ah…I feel like such a fool!!!
One and a half days ago
I got Juviderm injected into my upper lip and now I look like a DUCK!!!
I've always liked my lips but my bottom lip was always larger then my top so I asked if he could fill the upper lip a bit. He used one suringe.
I AM SO UNHAPPY WITH THE RESULTS and
AM CONFUSED OF WHAT TO DO.
My doctor is 3.5 hours away from me, so I can not run back there.
He has replied to my emails though.
Keep in mind that he has not seen me since Wed and today is Friday morning, but he wrote that
SWELLING IN THE LIPS IS VERY COMMON. IT WILL SUBSIDE OVER THE WEEK.
and he said
IF I AM UNHAPPY, I COULD MASSAGE…
but he did not say if I should first wait a week and if I am still unhappy then massage will help dissolve it.
WITHOUT LOOKING AT ME, How can he know that this is swelling and not the filler?
I wish I had not done this. It does not look good. My husband says I look like I have a fat upper lip, like someone punched me there.
ADVISE?

I just got Juvederm to my upper lip a day and a half ago…it does not look good.
I look like a duck with a big upper lip.
I am praying that it is swelling and will go away.
From your experience, when does the welling subside and the true result show?

You can find demos on how to do this massage on the internet. I will tell you about my issue. I had one side of my lower lip that was fuller and mooshed and smooshed until I was satisfied. I am sure the duck look can be improved, as well, just take a look at some videos and see if you can find the demo you need.

copyandpaste - In my experience, the lumps seems to subside after a week or so...I usually just rub my lips together to help disperse the filler evenly. Hope it woks out for you!
LoveMyBreast - The swelling is the worst 1 - 2 days after and should fully subside by day 4. 1 full syringe is a lot for one lip. Your lower lip is actually supposed to be fuller than the top, but if you enhance both evenly (or just add a little more to the top), your results will look more natural. I always ask the Dr. to stay away from the border of the lips to avoid a 'duck' appearance. If you're unhappy with the way your upper lip looks after a week, I think you can have the filler dissolved...or just add some to your lower lip to even it out? Good luck!

I had three little lumps that I just kept massaging, the two smallest ones went away within the first month and the one I can still feel is not visible anymore.
Have you considered trying a different doctor if you do decide to get more filler?

Help
Just got juvaderm filler last Friday to rejuvenate my philtrum(at the suggestion of my doc, whom I am also friends with). My original request was for a tiny scar to be filled on the L top lip. I loved my smile. Now, I look like a damn Muppet, have 2 lumps under my lips so my smile is whack & my scar is still there to boot....Will your squeezing techniques help? I am trying to be patient to see if swelling goes down but Im pretty pissed.

I had juvederm 5mths ago (love the look & feel of my lips) at my two wk follow up she massaged the crap out of them to get rid of the few lumps I had, she said it's very difficult to do the massaging on your own only because it needs to be done real firm.
