Muscle relaxers... Valium or Flexeril?

I've seen several references to both of these. Which do you like better and why? Can you take them with pain meds?

3 weeks PO
I was given Valium and lunesta, I was skeptical after my surgery about taking the two, Big mistake!
Lunesta helps you sleep, as well as flexoril And valium really helps with the muscle spasms after the trauma caused to them by being messed with.
Take what and how your PS recommends and take advantage of them don't be afraid, in a week or two you should be with put meds...I occasionally do Tylenol
Best of Luck

Hey!

I wasn't given either for my BA but I had both on hand at home. I would recommend taking what ever your PS gives you, they know whats good and what helps! Good luck!

I loved my cocktail of Valium and Percocet! Was just enough to keep the edge off for about 4 days. I cut back and only took my Valium at night when I went back to work. They both worked like a charm for me!

For my BA, I was prescribed 5 medications. Pain killers, muscle relaxer (valium) , anti-biotics, stool softner, and nausea.

My boyfriend and friend took care of me...They gave me a pain killer and then my valium 15 mins later. They were instructed to wait 15 mins before giving the next medication. On day 2, I doubled up on pain meds. Honestly though, you'll just need the muscle relaxer IMO. Oh, and the anti-biotics and STOOL SOFTNER!

Valium for sure! It's works WAY better than flexeril! I work with neurosurgeons who do lots of back/spinal surgery where they have to go through muscle and they swear by V for muscle spasms.
