Medical tourism insurance: help!

Does anyone have ANY information about purchasing medical tourism insurance for Canadians traveling to the United States for a surgical procedure? Obviously the cost of surgery won't be covered, but I'm looking for a plan that will cover any unforeseen medical complications that may arise. In Canada we have universal health care, so this isn't a concern if I were to have surgery in my home country. I am low-key terrified about going to America for my procedure but I have my heart set on Dr Revis.

Apologies, I realise this is an old thread but I'm wondering the same for an upcoming trip to another country for my surgery (Thailand). Did you manage to find out anything in regards to your question?

I just saw this thread and I'm wondering the same about a possible surgery in Belgium.

You will likely need to consult with the clinic you plan on having your surgery, as it might vary from clinic to clinic and from country to country. Subscribing to this thread as I am navigating this issue as well.
