2 weeks till surgery!

I am driving about 6 hours for my surgery. And will be staying in hotel for a couple days there before returning home. What would you guys recommend packing with me for my stay/recovery days in hotel? So excited itís so close now!!

Congratulations! I would recommend taking several of your own pillows with you to prop up on. You might not like the one's at the hotel. I would take straws, front closing tops, easy pull up pants, etc...a heating pad was a lifesaver for me the first 4-5 days. Good luck!!!

How exciting and good luck with everything!

We traveled 6 hours for my surgery here is a list of stuff we brought or bought once there to have in the room:
1. yeti tumbler with bendable straw
2. bottled waters
3. electrolyte water such as propel or Gatorade
4. individual apple sauces
5. yogurt
6. protein/granola bars
7. wedge pillow
8. yoga pants (loose ones not the tight fitting ones)
9. button shirts that are oversized
10. miralax
11. Gel ice packs (we got ice from the hotel and put the ice packs down in the bucket to keep them cold. Making ice packs by putting ice in Ziploc bags leaked all over me.)
12. We also brought a portable Bluetooth speaker that synced up with hubby's phone and played rain sounds to block out the hotel noise.
13. ginger ale
14. neck pillow for the ride home
15. pillow or throw blanket to put between you and the seatbelt
16. slip on shoes
17. oversized zip hoodie (this is what I wore from the hospital to the hotel instead of a shirt because it was easy to get into. I got it on clearance from H&M for $5)

If I remember any other items I'll add them. Remember to eat something when you take your meds so you don't upset your stomach. My husband set an alarm on his phone to go off and remind us it was time for what medications. Our thought is it's better to stay on top of the pain than try and get rid of it when it kicks in.
