waist training?
#2
Sorry my dear.
I had a friend post a really informative page on her facebook wall a couple months ago but I cannot find the post. It was an exceptional website that listed the truth about waist training, how to do it if you are serious about it, and the proper corsets to use - starting with a specific type to get your body used to it, custom fit trainers, etc.
I do know that you should have it custom made and about 4-6 inches smaller than your waist is currently. You will wear it day and night - for about 23 hours a day (work up from 4-5 hours a day), only removing it to shower. (Sleeping in it only after you've worked up to that long of time period, loosening it slightly, and retightening in the morning ... but only if it is a custom fit snug corset) After about a month of comfortable wear at the tightest lacing, you can move to a smaller waisted corset.
Here's a YouTube video about the different types of corsets from the 1900s-1950s ... you will want to think about what look you are going for.

Waist training goes well with a change in diet and exercise. You'll want an underbust style with high hips - overbust and low hips will make it more difficult and won't help the training much.
You don't want to spend big $$ on super fancy corsets while you are initially training. You'll want something high quality that will last you through your training until you reach your goal size. Also, training corsets have a specific breaking in period. You don't want to lace too tightly off the bat and break your corset! Once you are comfortably at your goal size, then start spending the $$ on your daily wear corsets!
I'm just a regular 'fashion corset' wearer. I'm not into training at all, and my knowledge here is just minimal.
Here's another on how to lace yourself in - many people do not know to start from the middle!

This site is also pretty good for giving a TON of detailed information on custom corsets:
