I was wondering when you have extensions is there a spedific shampoo/conditionar or product to use with them to try to keep them soft and tangle free?

With human hair, you should be able to use any good shampoo, make sure and get a great conditioner, as it needs extra moisture. When washing do not scrub the hair, it will tangle into in impossible mess! Just put the hair between your hands and rub back and forth. Don't wash too often either. The last tip is to put ur hair up, or sleep with a scarf (annoying, but you'll be able to wear them muuuuch longer). Enjoy

My advice is don't condition the roots of the hair where the extensions are as it will cause them to slip I was also always recommended avoid silicone based shampoo and conditioner.

Thanks girls. Haven't gotten them in yet but plan on it very soon. That question just popped into my head when I was showering at the gym. There shampoo sucks and I was thinking how my hair was not soft and how much of a pain extensions might be to wash. I forgot, its been a few years.

How muh do you girls pay for your extensions? I've been pricing them and HOLY CRAP - they start at like...$500! Is that normal?

I had added some pink extensions over the summer to my hair . It was $2.00 per extension I had 75 put in. The ones I had I just wash just like normal hair.

friend is a hair dresser, so I just have to pay for the hair and she'll do them for free. I think the hair is like $100 so thats it. So that's all I know. Thank goodness for her! haha

Kerastase is an awesome shampoo for extensions. Depends on your area I pay way over 1,000 for mine, but I also go to a Salon. You can probably get it done cheaper if its with someone who does it independently.
