After surgery both my breasts look a boxy/square at the bottom. Will I need a revision?

5 weeks post-op breast lift with 250cc Mentor high profile implants. My breasts look a little boxy/square at the bottom. The right breast looks smaller and a little more square than the left. My right breast was bigger before the surgery and now is a little smaller even though both breasts have the same size implant. I understand it's too early to see a big change, but this is my first surgery and I'm worried they will look square in the future. Any advice? Will I need a revision?

Square bottoms generally round out over time. Give it a few months.

A boxy look after a breast lift is common. It's best to wait until the implants fall adequately over the next 3 to 6 months and reevaluate. Sometimes a little liposuction is needed to shape the breasts and make them look rounder.

There are instances when the implant is placed beneath the muscle, the muscle may be in spasm after surgery. If so, the shape of the breast may be altered. However, that would be unlikely to persist for five weeks. It is too early to know whether some sort of revision may be needed in the future. I suggest you follow up with your surgeon and be patient for a few months before making that decision.

You probably need to wait until the swelling subsides to see what your result will be and then see if you are happy or if you want a revision. It really depends on you!

Definitely too early to tell. It takes at least 3-4 months for your breasts to fully "settle" so it is best to wait before making any revision decisions. Minor asymmetries are quite common despite best efforts to address differences at surgery especially with baseline asymmetry and "rounding out" of the lower part of you breasts with time is likely to improve the boxy/square appearance. Stay in touch with your plastic surgeon for a longer term follow up visit to address any concerns and be patient!

I'm at eight weeks post op; BR/BL. Two weeks ago, I started spitting stitches. I was advised not to take off tape even when I smell pus, yet he tells me to clean area with bacitracin and cover with gauze. I can't do this without removing tape.
