I recommend using breast tissue expanders if my patients wish to go larger than about 1500 cc, for they have the ability to vary the size and go significantly larger. Typically the implant to be used with an expander is chosen based on the dimensions of the fully expanded device. They can be overfilled to a certain extent (but this will alter the dimensions).

In my practice, patients will fill until they reach a look with which they are happy. At that point we will proceed to Stage 2 (exchange).

With regards to your specific question, the largest implants available are 800 cc (although we may soon have FDA approval for larger devices).

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
