I talked to my doctor a couple of weeks back. He suggested that I wrap them and not to sleep in the sports bra as much. They have yet to drop. I'm just worried something else might be wrong.
I hope the date is wrong up top here. 2.5 years ago this would not respond to any massage or bra. Even 9 months ago, if your year is wrong, I would suspect this wouldn't change too much. You may need a pocket revision to release a bit more of the muscle. On the other hand, if they once were down and now one is higher, then it is more likely to be capsular contracture and this will also need a surgical revision. Good luck!

It is possible that you may have had asymmetry pre-op that is being accentuated post-op. It is also possible your pocket is not as low as the other on one side, or that the capsule is tightening.
We oftentimes suggest wraps/compression at the top to try to push the implants down along with capsule massage, though there is no scientific evidence of these maneuvers making a significant difference statistically.
Continued followup is necessary to determine whether the implant will settle into position or if you would need revision surgery.

It can take up to 6 months for the implants to drop into place. Wearing a bra that has absolutely no support is ideal. Massaging and squeezing the implant from the top of the breast so it pushes downward is helpful. You could also consider purchasing an implant stabilizer strap from a company such as Marena. This will also help push the implants downward.

It sounds like your implants were placed under the muscle and it takes several months for them to "drop," but many times it does not and breasts are asymmetrical. You may require another surgery for correction of this.

thank you for your question. It can take up to 6 months (sometimes a full year) for the breast implants to fully drop into the pockets. I would recommend listening to your surgeon as he knows your history and has your best interest in mind.
Best wishes for an outcome you will be pleased with.

Implants will settle as the soft tissue stretches to accommodate the new increased volume over the first few weeks after surgery. The majority of this process will take place during the first 4-6 weeks. However, patients will not reach a final end result until approximately 4-6 months post op.
For patients in whom a significant asymmetry persists, there are options such as a bandeau for exerting downward pressure. Patients should be aware of the fact that some mild baseline asymmetry is not uncommon. If the difference is significant, nearly 4 months post op, a revision may be in order.
As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
