You may be experiencing encapsulation (capsular contracture) or possible a fluid collection around your breast implant. If you notice a change in your breast appearance, size or softness as well, you should plan to follow up with your plastic surgeon for an examination.

Remember that implants are not lifetime devices and especially with pregnancies and nursing after implant surgery, there can be changes that may need to be addressed.

I am sorry to hear about the discomfort you are experiencing. While it may be connected to the implant causing some nerve pain, my advice would be to rule out any other medical issue that you might have. Your ob/gyn can order a mammogram/ultrasound of your breast for you to get a more definitive diagnosis. A visit to a PS would also be helpful so that your implant can be checked. Once you know what is going on, then you can take the right course of treatment.

I would suggest calling your plastic surgeon and making an appointment. They may want you to have a mammogram, ultrasound, or MRI prior to the appointment to help them diagnose what is causing your pain. If they rule out the pain coming from your breast implant, they may refer you to a breast specialist. If the pain has been persistent, you should see a doctor.
