Transumbilical Incision in Paradise Valley, Arizona (AZ)

Transumbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) is a technique to place your breast implants through a small incision in your bellybutton (transumbilical incision), leaving just one, almost undetectable scar.

Advantages of transumbilical incision

The transumbilical incision has advantages over traditional breast implant techniques.
  • There is just one small incision and the scar is hidden in your belly button.
  • Surgery takes just 30-45 minutes, reducing surgery fees and the risk of complications.
  • There is less pain and discomfort compared to other breast augmentation techniques.
  • Recovery is usually faster and milder compared to other techniques.

Disadvantages

There are disadvantages to the transumbilical incision also.
  • Surgery is more difficult and not all surgeons are skilled in this procedure.
  • Future implant complications may require another surgery that creates noticeable scars.
  • Prefilled saline or silicone implants can’t be used because they won’t fit through the incision.
