Itching is definitely one of the signs of inflammation (inflammation causes your body to release histamine, and antihistamines like Benadryl can help with itching, no matter where in your body). If you're still undergoing inflammation, that can be one sign that your skin is still stretching, but not necessarily. Do you think your skin is stretching? (If it's stretching, you'll probably see the stretching in your "lower pole," beneath your nipple/areola.)

No

Yes, the itchiness could be due to the skin stretching. Perhaps using a good moisturizer will help. Do you have a rash? If so, consult with your doctor.

No, this may just be your nerves growing back. Try some benedryl or claritin as a start.

It is certainly possible that you're feeling this secondary to skin stretching. However, sometimes the nerves also could be causing this sensation. This will pass and improve with time. If it is unbearable, using Benadryl or topical steroid cream can help. This can also happen if the skin is dry; therefore, moisturizing can be helpful.

Perhaps, but a dermatologist may be a valuable resource for you.

Your skin should not be itchy. I would try lubricating it with something like Organoderm Breast Cream. If you are using a scar gel, you may be allergic to that and I would stop that.

It is probably because the nerves that are temporarily traumatized during the surgery are starting to regenerate. Keep your skin moisturized, but the process may take up to a year.

Thank you for asking. Itching after augmentation can occur but is usually temporary. It's usually part of the healing and stretching process. If a larger size implant was used, the sensory nerves may simply be accommodating to the new size. See your PS for discussion. Best wishes

Thank you for your question. Itching after surgery is a very common phenomenon due to the return of nerve sensations associated with the healing process and the degree of skin stretching that takes place when a breast implant is placed. Sometimes this itching can persist for quite some time but I would recommend following up with your operating surgeon to discuss your concerns. Best of luck!

Skin irritation after breast augmentation is typically related to swelling resolving and skin dryness as this occurs. It also may relate to how a bra fits and how much support there is during physical activity. Breast augmentation is a big change to the breast and it takes about 1 year for things to settle down completely.

Thank you for your question. Itching is common after breast augmentation. Your skin may be still be stretching. Nerves may still be regenerating making your breasts feel an "itching" sensation. Your skin may be dry also creating a similar sensation. The healing process may take up to a year after surgery. I recommend daily moisturizer, preferably a product that is hypoallergenic and natural with the least amount of preservatives: tea tree oil, coconut oil, and bio oil all work very well.
