How does a doctor remove steri-strips in the office? Does it hurt?

It's been four weeks post-op since my breast lift reduction

They just remove them. It should not be terribly uncomfortable.

In my practice, I use steri strips for breast augmentation and breast lift surgery. I remove them one week after the surgery. But the night before your one-week follow-up visit, I have you apply neosporin to the steristrips. This solubolizes the glue, and makes removal of the steristrip painless. If you're allergic to neosporin, then I use Aquaphor or Vaseline, as the petrolatum base does the trick! Get those steristrips off!

Hi,

Steristrips are easy to remove. Patients usually complain of mild discomfort, but no pain. In rare cases, an ultra-sensitive patient may complain of pain. It depends on the your tolerance. Wish you the best!

Post operatively your breasts might be sensitive. However, removal of the steri-strips should not be particularly uncomfortable. They are basically removed in much the same fashion as any other dressing.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Steri-strip removal is very easy. If it has been 4 weeks then the adhesive has loosened with time and each shower. Your surgeon/staff will wet the area in the office to help loosen them even more and the steri-strips will peel right off. No stress!

Great question! The sterri strips simply peel off after several weeks, and it does not hurt. Good luck!

Breast Reduction -1 answer
I'm proposing an alternative surgery where the incision is made on the top of the breast and breast tissue is taken out from above then the skin is pulled up to create a lift. in this case, the scars would go from the armpit down to the cleavage on the top side of the breast instead of the bottom. I would prefer this surgery because I believe that it would reduce the risk of issues related to the nipple. It would also preserve all of the healthy breast skin that is below and has its elasticity.

I recently (6 month PO) had one breast reduced due to asymmetry. The left implant was reduced in size and had a pocket revision. Now that the implant has settled, the implant is too close to my midline (goes past midline with bra on) and I have crooked cleavage. Would it be better to undo the pocket revision or switch to a narrower/smaller implant (left is still larger). I worry smaller implant (as my doctor suggested to avoid undermining the pocket) will not fix the problem entirely.
