Does 25cc's really make a difference?

I'm 23 years old and very petite at 5'0. I currently go between a 32 A/B, depending on which store I am shopping in. I have met with my surgeon and we have decided 300cc; however, after thinking about it I am unsure if I should drop to 275cc as my purpose is to have a natural looking C-cup. Does the 25cc's really make a difference?

No, 25 cc's really doesn't make a difference. In my experience, it is advisable to go with the slightly larger size since the vast majority of women who have a revision surgery do so to be bigger.

No, it only augments projection by 25 cc's (two tablespoons), which is not even noticeable to the naked eye.

Not really. 25 cc's is 1 1/2 tablespoons! Not a big difference when you think about it. However, the base diameter might be a bit bigger or the projection might be a bit larger. It's not only volume one has to be concerned with, but rather the measurements of the implants. Check with your surgeon to find out which he/she recommends. Good luck.

A 1 1/2 cup jump requires 250cc's. Ask that 230cc hi profile implants be filled to 275cc's. This is a much better fit on a small chest and you would not have to worry about rippling. As for the breast implant type, I recommend saline.

25 cc's is less than one ounce or 1.5 tablespoons. It generally doesn't make much difference. It would be more helpful, however, if you included photos of yourself--a front view, a side view, and a three-quarter view.. This will let us see if there are any breast asymmetries, if the breasts are narrow, if the breasts are wide, what your chest wall looks like, and this will also help us make a decision as to the best size breast implant for you.

That said, in my experience, if a woman wears a size 36 A/B bra and would like to be a C-cup, which is the average size that women wear and the average size bra that is sold, she needs a volume of approximately 350 to 390 cc to make that change. This becomes less if she's wearing a 34 bra, because it has a smaller strap size and the cups have a smaller diameter. A smaller diameter implant would then be a volume of approximately 300 to 350 cc. In the same way if she was more petite, maybe a double zero or size one and wore a 32 A/B bra, then to become a 32 C-cup, she would only require about 250 to 300 cc.

25 cc is only 5 teaspoons in volume. In other words it is not much difference. When discussing this amount I usually error on the high side since about 30-40% of women will come back 6 months later and wish they had gone larger.

The best thing to do is communicate with your surgeon. I ask my patients to bring in pictures of breast sizes that they like and even dislike. I review these photos with the patient and discuss if it is reasonable with their body type, size, etc. I take these photos to the operating room with me and when the patients is on the operating room table, I use temporary sizers to view how different cc's look on the patient. I sit the patient up on the operating room several times and compare them with the photos that they have chosen. When I see that I have achieved the patient's goals, I remove the temporary sizers and put in the implants. There is no guess work. I have all sizes from both manufacturers available to me at all times. This procedure takes more time BUT gives more exact results. I hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. 25cc will not make a significant size difference in terms of breast volume. However, in the Mentor moderate plus profile silicone implant, there is a 3mm increase in base diameter going from a 275cc to 300cc implant. If you have a large space between your breasts, you may have a better cosmetic result with the wider base diameter implant. Check with your plastic surgeon about your breast width measurements.

25cc makes very little difference. If anything, patients wish they would have gone larger. Try looking at before and after photos of women with a similar body to see what 275cc or 300cc may look like. Best of luck.

On average, 25 mL does not make much of a difference. However, if you do not have much breast tissue to begin with and you are an A/ B-cup, then the difference will be somewhat noticeable. If your measurements that your plastic surgeon took indicate you can accommodate 300 mL implants based on your consultation, my suggestion is that you go with the larger implant because most women who are not extremely satisfied with the result wish they had gone slightly bigger.

The smaller the range of implants being considered, the more important 25 cc becomes. In general, the most significant factor contributing to the fake look is disproportionate implant contribution to final breast volume. In other words, the bigger the implant, the more likely you will look less natural. If you are thin and small breasted, you should consider the most modern implants available, form stable anatomically shaped implants. They have the lowest risk of complications, are more likely to look natural, and ripple the least of all implants. You may need to go to another surgeon if your current surgeon doesn't do them.

There is a difference of 150 mL for a cup size. 25 mL is a noticeable. That is 5 tablespoons of fluid. The difference is so little I wouldn't worry about that. Keep in mind that 70% of the women that do this three months later say they wish they would have gone larger. I believe that at 5 feet tall you may wish to have the 275 mL.

Thank you for sharing. Keeping your height in mind, even 25 cc's is a very minimal change. Volumes do not necessarily lead to a direct cup size change. A natural look is often controlled by profile of the implant. For example, a high profile implant is not the "natural" look. Rather it would better be suited to a moderate or moderate plus profile. Your sizing with the PS should properly guide you. Best wishes

Good morning!

25cc will hardly make a difference at all. Usually when going up or down, it takes about 100cc to see a difference. The general rule is: When debating between two sizes so close together (275 and 300), go with the larger size. You won't regret it.

Also, natural-looking is just as much a function of surgeon experience with creating a nice soft natural look as it is selecting the correct implant size and profile, so make sure your surgeon understands exactly what you want. Show them lots of inspiration pics and make sure they agree that your implant selection and desired goals are a good match!

Good luck I wish you well and hope you love them!

A conservative implant size, especially on someone small, is a good choice. A 25cc difference may not be noticeable, but on a small chest it may show if two different implants are used.
