For example, if I was to get lipo on my hips/thighs and a breast aug at the same time, would my recovery time be longer than if I just got a BA by itself?
Yes for sure. That said, it's shorter than the recovery from each one separately so I do recommend combining procedures when possible. Good luck!

Yes.

Any time you extend the period of sedation, your recovery will lengthen. Also, it depends on the type of procedure. A tummy tuck, for instance, will take longer to recover from than say a simple lipo.

It is not uncommon to have multiple procedures like lipo and a breast augmentation performed at the same time. You should be fine in your recovery, and the time for recovery should be the same regardless of whether you have more than one procedure--or, at this is the case with our patients.

No, recovery time is the same. Expect two weeks of no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise.

The recovery time is usually based on the recovery time of the procedure that has the longest recovery time. Face lifts require 10-14 days. Doing little procedures (lips, eyes, brow) do not add to the downtime. Breast augmentation requires about a week or so and back into the gym at about one month post op. Liposuction does not prolong the recovery. Tummy tucks require approximately two weeks off and if one adds breast surgery, it does not add to the time off.

Thank you for the question.
In general, the recovery time of the more extensive surgery is what the patient needs to consider. For example, while you are recovering from the breast surgery, the liposuction portion of the surgery will also be healing, so the "time frame" would not necessarily be extended. Best to speak with your surgeon to get the most accurate information.
Best wishes for a result you will be pleased with.

Thank you for your question. Multiple procedures can make the recovery process longer depending on the type of surgical procedure. In your case, a small area of liposuction, such as the hips and thighs, shouldn't affect your overall recovery time. My patients will typically return to driving in 2 to 3 days and to work within 5 to 7 days, depending on the type of work they do.

The liposuction is the longer recovery if the breast augmentation is well done. So once you make the decision to do the lipo, you could easily do the breasts at the same time. If you don't want to do the lipo, then a breast augmentation can be done with a relatively easy recovery.
Of course, the recovery for the lipo depends upon how much you are going to do. If it is just a little bit, the recovery is inconsequential, whereas a large volume suction would entail much more.
Furthermore, this is really not the sort of question to ask random doctors on the Internet because this depends upon you, your surgery, and your surgeon. Ask your surgeon to decide what you are going to do.

My patients prefer to combine procedures for it is one recovery and we usually will give a discount for the second procedure. You do not heal separately from each procedure, rather together. However, sometimes the prolonged anesthesia may affect you longer.

When you perform multiple procedures, the recovery is always a little harder than doing just one. However, recovery usually coincides with the procedure that takes the longest to recover from. So, if you add a blephoraplasty to a face lift, the actual total recovery is dependent on the face lift, and although you have one more area to heal, the overall recovery time is not longer.

The added liposuction will not add additional recovery to your breast augmentation. I perform multiple procedures commonly in addition to breast augmentation such as liposuction. It can be done safely and efficiently.

Thank you for asking. In most patients, two procedures like these do not significantly affect healing time. Larger, longer combination procedures could require a longer recovery. Talk with a board-certified PS. Best wishes!

Generally speaking, the recovery time is the same for the procedures as it would be if they were done alone. How you define recovery time varies from one doctor to another. Is it the time it takes to get back to work? to exercising? or just being able to get around? My breast aug patients are back to most normal activities by the next day, but I don't want them to exercise for 3 weeks. With lipo, my patients are a little sore and possibly swollen and bruised, but are doing there normal activities the next day, other than exercising. If a patient has both procedures, the recovery time is the same.
